Owner/Instructor: Beth Smith

In 2008, I became certified to teach pilates. I had been a dedicated student of pilates for 5 years before I decided to teach this amazing form of exercise. I hold multiple levels of pilates mat certifications and teach not only for my own business, but at local gyms and businesses in the West Chester, PA area. With over 5,000 teaching hours, I have had the pleasure of sharing my love for pilates with many wonderful people.
In addition to pilates, I love to run! I have completed 1 ultra trail race of over 34 miles, 3 marathons and 16 half marathons. My running began after pilates; I credit the success that I have had with running to the intense core training, balance, breathing, posture and proper alignment that I learned from pilates. I enjoy running with clients before some of my classes and have built a nice supportive running group in the West Chester area.

Classes/Private Sessions:

Small group classes:
We run before many of the classes. This allows for an intense 80 minute workout. The run is optional and of no charge to the client. By applying the concepts that we learn in pilates, it allows us to move more efficiently, maintain better balance, master proper posture to open up our chest for better breathing, and proper breathing to power through the run. Neuromuscular control learned in pilates (teaching the mind to control the bodies movements) helps us maintain a mind body connection and assist in preventing injuries.  After the run, we return to the space for a 50 minute pilates class. The class follows traditional pilates exercises and flow with some additions for variety.

Privates sessions:
I work privately with you (or you and a few friends) at your home or business. This allows for a more tailored program that suits your needs and goals.
TESTIMONIALS:

I love Beth's classes. I was an unmotivated runner who enjoyed the occasional pilates class. I felt that I got more bang for my time with the cardio burn of running but appreciated what pilates could do for my body, especially as I'm getting older. What a treasure I discovered in Beth's run/pilates class! The combination of the two classes has helped me in so many ways! Pilates after running is an awesome way to stretch and strengthen after a run. My running has gone from maybe 1 time a week to 3 or 4 and the regular pilates class helps keep my core in shape which benefits my entire well-being. I'd been losing some weight that I'd put on before joining Beth's class last year and have successfully kept it off for over a year. Beth offers classes that are sure to fit into most people's schedules. I currently take the 5:45 a.m. class - never thought I'd see the day I'd get up that early to run! But don't worry - she offers night time and classes later in the morning too! This class is for everyone from beginner to advanced in both the running/walking and the pilates.

This has been the BEST year of my Life...I have been doing Pilates wth Beth for the past year and it has transformed me. Not just my body but my entire life. I even do the run with the Pilates class...I never ran before and now I run 3x a week. Beth is an inspiration. Her classes are a real work out but we all have so much fun, we are all friends now and I have to say the classes are good for my body and my soul. If you want to get fit and meet wonderful people then this is the Pilates class you want!!! Life altering, take one class and you will be back for more! No need to feel intimidated if you are a beginner either, Beth makes us all feel comfortable. Love you Beth!!!!!!!! jen

I have been taking classes with Beth off and on for the past 4 years and can definitely feel the reward after her classes not to mention my running form has greatly improved. Beth explains every pilates moves well, incorporating the correct breathing techniques and will help with the moves to make sure we do them correctly to reap the benefits…. and her personality ties everything together making her classes the best!

I have been taking Beth Smith's class for a few years now and can't say enough about it! Beth is an excellent instructor who truly cares about her students and knows how to motivate them. She is great at offering modifications for new students and others that need them. I love the way she is always adding new exercises, equipment and music to keep the classes interesting and challenging.

I have exercised as long as I can remember. I ran cross country and track and field in high school and college and was a certified aerobic instructor. I can say without hesitation that right now I am more physically fit than ever after doing Pilates with Beth for the past 18 months. I am stronger, have better posture and better breathing. Pilates has improved my life in so many ways. I use techniques I've learned in Pilates while gardening, doing housework, and working at my job. The breathing techniques I have learned from Beth assist me in all types of situations as well. Beth has so much positive energy and she shares it with all of us. She makes sure everyone is in proper form and getting the most out of their workout. I have taken classes from other instructors as well but Beth's instruction and classes have been superior. If you have tried pilates and not felt results, please try Beth's classes.
