Embracing Community
I've always loved the feeling of small town living and embraced a strong sense of community. I've lived in many towns that weren't "small", but still managed to foster that feeling. Growing up in the suburbs of Cincinnati, we lived in a close community where it seemed like everyone knew each other. I went to the same high school as my parents, my mom lived on the same property until she was almost 50 years old, my grandparents were right up the driveway from us, and aunts, uncles and cousins all within a short car ride. That feeling of family, and knowing you had people there for you, has stayed with me as I moved across the Southeast and, eventually, into the Eastern PA area. Family (blood or not) is essential to me and my happiness. It's my goal that all of my clients feel like family. That they know that I have their back in good times, and in the dreaded bad times. This sense of community has moved me to build OUR community, establish a group of folks that can reach out and run together, share in marriages, new babies (and grand babies), and everything else life throws our way. This sense of community has compelled me to support and share my love for local businesses, support local charities and local races that you'll see below. Recently, I had the opportunity to join forces with another business that shares my same philosophy, Philadelphia Runner. I've joined their team as a part-time employee. It seems to be a perfect match since we both like to see our clients happy and healthy! Below you will see some exciting opportunities for group runs and free pilates at the Glen Eagle store. I hope to see OUR community grow even more in the months to come! So, if you see a new face in class; join me for a free pilates class at PR; hop into a group run at the store; or meet new folks while visiting me in the store, make sure to show them just how awesome you are and what a great community we have built!

"I am so happy that I found such great people and great classes.... and in the end great friends!"
Cheryl's Story......
I started taking Beth's Run/Pilates combo class in 2009, when my youngest of 3 girls turned 3. My girlfriend suggested that a couple of us try the class to start getting into shape. When I took the first class, I could barely run two blocks! I was never much of a runner, but have always enjoyed exercise. I was enjoying the challenge and did not get discouraged. I have run a few 5K's over the years (Dub C, St. Max, Ryan's Run Victory 5K, Hoods in the Woods), the Hershey 10K two years and the Autism Cares 10K. My greatest running accomplishment to date is the Broad Street 10 miler! Not too shabby for a gal who couldn't run two blocks:) Through the years, I have met so many nice men and women, who are trying to balance family and crazy schedules, while trying to cut out a little time for themselves. It is not always easy for me with 3 girls pulling me in every direction, but I understand the need to make time for myself. This is why when it gets extra crazy for me, I take advantage of the private pilates classes that Beth offers, she comes right here to my home! That does not leave me much room for excuses when it comes to taking care of myself, it allows me flexibility when my schedule doesn't always gel with the group class times that Beth offers, and it gives me the opportunity to work on those specific 'trouble areas' that drive me crazy. Beth is a great motivator and watching her work so hard at her own fitness regime is inspiring. I am so happy that I found such great people, a great fitness class and in the end great friends!

DONATION OPPORTUNITY!!!!!!
As many of you know, my oldest son Graham spent nearly a month at AI DuPont Children's Hospital when he was 3 years old and a week at the age of 1. Graham continues to be under the care of Physicians at AI DuPont at the age of 15 (tomorrow, yikes!) and is very happy and healthy. DuPont holds a special place in our hearts as the physicians, nurses and staff there have been pleasant and supportive, making his stays there bearable for us all.
For the past 2 years, Graham and his brother, Evan, used most of the money they received for Christmas to purchase and donate toys and various items to AI DuPont. The boys are looking forward to doing this again this year on Martin Luther King Day 2015!
If you are interested in donating an unused toy or item for the boys to deliver on MLK Day, they'd love to be able to donate MORE items this year!! In exchange for your generosity, I will give you a $5 coupon to pilates!! Please click on the photo of my guys below (with their donations from this past year) to see what's on the list provided by AI DuPont.
